What is a piggyback pump?
•A piggyback pump is a tandem pump that combines two or more pump frame sizes into one assembly.
Why use a piggyback pump?
•Widely differing flow requirements from the pumping sections
•Pumping different fluids (separate inlets)
•The ability to add a pumping section later without tearing down the pump
•Combining different styles and manufacturers products into one assembly
There are 3 types of Piggyback pumps
•Standard roller bearing pump piggyback
•Standard bushing pump piggyback
•Add-A-Pump piggyback
Standard Roller Bearing Pump Piggyback
•Features:
•Available in the 30,31,50,51,75 and 76 series pumps
•Can be built from code
•Special shaft end, port end and connecting shaft accomplish the interface
•Pumps are sealed and isolated at the interface
–Need separate inlets
–Can run from separate reservoirs with different fluids
Standard Bushing Pump Piggyback
•Features:
•Available in the 365/330, 350/315 and 330/315 pump series combinations
•Cannot be built from code
•Special bearing carrier and connecting shaft accomplish interface
•Pump sections are not sealed or isolated at the interface
–Pump sections can be fed with a single inlet
–Cannot run from separate reservoirs or different fluids
Dynaco P365/P330, P350/P315 and P330/P315 piggyback pump can be 100% interchangeable with Parker pumps.
